Terms of Participation

The association invites you to a project choir that will perform at the Christmas Singing in Schmelz on Dec 23, 2026 at Rathausplatz. The association is not the organiser of the Christmas Singing itself (organiser’s website: schmelzer-weihnachtssingen.de).

1. Registration

• Registration for the project choir is made via the form on our website and is binding once submitted. You will receive a confirmation with an invoice by email.
• This time, registration is open from age 12 (age on Nov 22, 2026), as we will be singing songs in German, English and French. No language skills or musical experience needed.
• For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian registers and receives the invoice.
• The registration deadline is Nov 22, 2026, the day of the first rehearsal.

2. Fee and payment

• The fee is €30 for adults and €20 for children and teens under 18. It covers all rehearsals, the learning material and the project choir’s participation in the performance.
• Please transfer the fee within 14 days of receiving the invoice, quoting the invoice number as the payment reference.
• Once your fee has reached us, we will email you the learning material about a week before the first rehearsal – so you can listen in and practise at your leisure. If you register or pay a little later, the material will come to you right after your payment.
• To keep things fair for everyone, you can take part in the rehearsals once your fee has been received in full.
• If the fee is difficult for you at the moment, just write to us – we will find a solution together.

3. Cancellation by you

• You can cancel at any time by email.
• If you cancel by Nov 15, 2026 inclusive, we will refund the full fee.
• Unfortunately, no refund is possible for later cancellations, as the learning material will already have been sent.
• There is no statutory right of withdrawal, as this is a leisure event with fixed dates (Section 312g (2) No. 9 German Civil Code).

4. Cancellation or changes

• If we have to cancel the entire project choir, you will receive a full refund.
• If a single rehearsal is cancelled or moved, we will try to find a replacement date. There is no refund for this.
• The schedule, venue, running or cancellation of the Christmas Singing (for example due to severe weather) is decided by its organiser. If the performance is cancelled for reasons beyond our control, the fee will not be refunded, as the rehearsals have taken place.

5. Children and teens

• Rehearsals: During rehearsals (4–6 pm) the association supervises the group. Before the start and after the end, parents or legal guardians are responsible. Please bring and pick up children on time.
• Performance at the Christmas Singing: Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for their child. Please accompany your child to the meeting point, stay reachable at Rathausplatz during the event and pick your child up directly after the performance.

6. Health

• If you are ill, please stay at home and let us know.

7. Photos and videos

• We only use recordings for our public relations if consent was given at registration. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by email.
• The Christmas Singing is a public event – the organiser, the press or spectators may also take photos and videos. We have no influence on this.

8. Liability

• The association is only liable for intent and gross negligence. This does not apply to injury to life, body or health. We accept no liability for personal belongings.
• The house rules of the Stefanschule apply there.
